I once had a dangerously high blood sugar reading — 29.5 mmol/L! Alhamdulillah, within just 2 months, I managed to bring it down to a normal range of 5–7 mmol/L.
Here’s what I did to reverse my diabetes naturally:
✅ 1. CUT OUT ALL SUGAR & SWEET STUFF
I completely stopped consuming sugar and anything sweet. Instead, I drank lots of plain mineral water every day.
✅ 2. LOW CARBS, MORE PROTEIN & VEGGIES
I reduced carbohydrates like rice and bread. I focused more on:
Fresh vegetables
Protein: chicken, fish, beef
Nuts and legumes
I also started eating or juicing bitter melon (peria katak) – it tastes bitter but it really helps!
✅ 3. DAILY MORNING EXERCISE
I walked every morning (5 days a week), after 8 a.m. – to get natural vitamin D from sunlight.
Started with 3 km
Increased to 4.5 km
Eventually reached 6 km per session
✅ 4. SLEEP EARLY & SLEEP WELL
I made sure to go to bed by 9 p.m. and got enough quality sleep every night. Proper rest plays a big role in managing blood sugar.
✅ 5. MONITOR BLOOD SUGAR DAILY
I bought a glucose meter and tracked my sugar levels every morning. Monitoring helps you stay aware and adjust your habits accordingly.
✅ 6. IDENTIFY YOUR TRIGGERS
In my case, I discovered that my blood sugar spikes were caused by herbal gout medication I got from a traditional healer. It apparently contained high levels of steroids, which can raise blood sugar very quickly. Always be cautious with what you consume — especially unprescribed meds.
Now I’m able to enjoy normal food again (with some moderation). Still watching what I eat, but I no longer feel restricted. The key is discipline and consistency.
