Kuala Selangor Escape Itinerary

Day 1. Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Selangor, Bukit Melawati, Eagle Feeding, Firefly tour, Bluetears tour (L,D)

  • Morning from Kuala Lumpur, we will bring you to Kuala Selangor about 1 hour drive (67km)
  • We will drive to the Top of Bukit Melawati. 

    Bukit Melawati was once, the administrative center and stronghold of the Selangor Sultanate in the late 18th and early 19th century. A heavily fortified fort once stood on the summit. It was built during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim from 1782 to 1826 to fight against the Dutch. Selangor had been sucked into the struggle between the Dutct amd the ruler of Johor and Riau.

    The fort fell to the Dutch in 1784, renamed it "Altingsburd Fort" after they did not hold it for long. Sultar Dutch governor-general. Butn Ibrahim recaptured the fort in January 1785 in a daring night attack with the aid of warrior from Pahang and mercenaries from Permatang. The victory was significant. It was the first time that a local Sulatn had been able to retake his fort from a foreign power.

    In Bukit Melawati are found relics of the past, including the protective walls of the fort, the palace ground, a lighthouse, royal graves, seven walls, a flat stone used for beheading offenders, a 100-step ladder, a poisonous well and several cannons pointed at the moth of the Selangor River (Sungai Selangor). Bukit Melawati was designated a historical monument and historical site under Antiquities Act 1976 in 1977.

  • After a lunch in Kuala Selangor, you will be transferred to Hotel for Check-in.
  • Around 4.30pm we will pick you up to the jetty for the Eagle Feeding Tour. Kuala Selangor is home to over 200 eagles, making eagle feeding here another exciting activity to do. While feeding, witness the spectacular sight of dozens of eagles hovering in the sky and swooping down into the river to catch the food. The boat trip starts from the jetty to the estuary of Selangor River. Around 6pm we will back to the jetty.
  • Have Dinner at Seafood Restaurant
  • Around 7.30pm we will get into the jetty again for Fireflies tour. A trip to Kuala Selangor is incomplete without witnessing millions of mystical fireflies flashing in synchrony. Taking place after sunset, ride on a traditional boat (sampan) down the Selangor River, through the mangroves, and slowly you will see the glinting fairies welcome you in this mysterious dark night. You will never forget this amazing scene. You will come back to the jetty around 8.15pm.
  • Have a Coffee Brake and get to the jetty again for a 9.00pm Blue Tears Tour - In the legend of the Sea Dragon King left his tears scattered on the sea. The arrival of the night, these small pearls flashing blue light, the formation of blue tears.
  • Around 10am, you will be back and transfer back to the hotel for a good sleep. Overnight Kuala Selangor

Day 2 (B,L)

  • Early Breakfast at Hotel
  • Depends on the season, you will be pickup to the Jetty for the Sky Mirror Tour. The tour will be for 2.5hr. -The so-called “skymirror” refers to a thin layer of water on the ground, reflecting the sky clearly under the sun, which looks like a big mirror. Its extraordinarily beautiful scene makes it the desired instagrammable spot for everyone!
  • Checkout hotel
  • Have a lunch before drive back to Kuala Lumpur
